The Healing Newsletter

This newsletter is for nurses, doctors, patients, and anyone who wants to imagine and fight for more caring health care. Our population is aging and each of us will be a patient someday, but our health care system’s focus on profits has created a compassion-deficit. That’s a problem because caring matters and kindness is integral to healing.

I’m a nurse who became a patient when I was diagnosed with breast cancer in September 2017. I wrote Healing because I was shocked by the unkindness I endured as a patient, and upset that I had not recognized that unkindness when I was a nurse.
